Carter Menary, sound designer // technical sound designer
Carter Menary is an award-winning game developer specializing in sound design and technical sound design.
With nearly a decade of experience in game development, he has gained proficiency in Unreal, Wwise, Unity, and FMOD, continually seeking new and unique ways for implementation and systems design to strengthen the connection between game design considerations and the audio experience.
Through sound design, he aims to improve the immersion, impact, and enjoyment of games while providing satisfying feedback to the player, making heavy use of his ever-growing personal audio library.
He completed a Bachelor's of IT (Honours) in Game Development at Ontario Tech University in May 2022, and is currently enrolled in a post-graduate diploma Sound Design & Post-Production program at George Brown Polytechnic, expected to graduate in August 2026.
During his tenure at Ontario Tech University, he founded the Game Sound Club and served as its president for two consecutive years, conducting weekly sessions on a variety of game audio topics.
Outside of game development, he is active in the Toronto music scene with indie alternative rock band separator, and is an avid runner, aiming for his first marathon this October.
